Fuel pump relay question

ive had a couple posts about my turbocharged NA engine and how the car would shut down after a bit, but i think i may have finally came across the problem and i wanted to know if anyone else has encountered the same thing.

which would be the fuel pump relay, it is an S5 and one person i have talked to told me that the fuel pump relay may be bad, because sometimes it will heat up and turn the fuel pump off, and then not turn back on untill its fully cooled down.

if this is my problem, is there a way to bypass this relay, or do i simply replace it?

There is a write up somewhere on how to wire the fuel pump directly to the battery using an aftermarket relay. %90 of the people here will say it's a stupid idea but i think it'd be much simpler anyway. If it's overheating it may be another problem though.

well the car itself isnt overheating, its just that the relay (i think) is getting too hot and saying fuck this.. and then shutting the fuel pump off

Oh i understand, just perhaps maybe it's drawing too much current? You try one from another car yet?

as soon as i can find an s5 fuel pump relay im going to try it, and also i didnt know if there was more than one relay for the fuel? any opinions? places to get one? have one?

What fuel pump are you running?
It is possible you are overheating the pump and it is shutting down. Typically, if the resistor relay is going bad it will blow the 15A engine fuse. There is also the possibility that it is the circuit opening relay or the ECU. Try jumping the check connector, this will bypass the fuel pump relay, if the car doesn't die then you have found the problem.

now how do i go about jumping the check connector?
i do not know much at all about the electronic side of this, i have a buddy for that, and hes gone for a few weeks
