fuel pump Question
 

How do I disconnect the pump connector to let the fuel cut out? I took the plate off and then I got stumped. I didnt want to start taking stuff appart and get fuel sprayed at me. Can anyone give me a site or pics or any kind of help. Thanks

I saw like a red white and i think blue wire and then one additional wire. but i couldnt see how to disconnect them.

Follow the harness from the fuel pump back to the connector UNDER the rear of the left rear strut tower. Under the carpet.

If the car has not run for the last six hours or so and you have not held the key to START since then.......there won't be any fuel pressure to speak of in the lines.

Ok, the car hasnt run for the past couple of days. So do you think i can go ahead and remove the fuel pump without releaving the pressure?

I think you should go through the pressure relief steps anyways just to be on the safe side.

Yes, just remove the fuel hoses slowly as you'll be able to see if any pressure. As the car hasn't been run for a couple of days, there should be very little pressure in system.

Put a rag over the hoses when you pull them off never ever had a problem doing it that way. Rag soaks up any fuel.

Now i was advised to buy the walbro fuel pump, to support my RB exhaust. But will i notice any increase in power? will it increase hp?

I have RB turbo-back, RB FCD, and HKS intake. Also I was told to port my wastegate, but people told me if I did I would end up at stock hp. so I waisted money on mods that didnt change anything. Is that true?

If you have the Turbo back RB system, the Walbro will ensure no lack of fuel, but you'll need to have electronics to increase the fuel into the engine if your looking at running 10/11 lbs. consistantly.

"On an unmodified turbo a full exhaust and a pod filter will always result in enough boost to hit fuel cut. The only way to avoid fuel cut with the stock ECU is to fit a FCD. But you will still have dangerous boost creep, and the only way to cure that while keeping your intake and exhaust mods in place is to port the wastegate. It's a viscous cycle. You put exhaust/intake on to create boost, too high so you port the wastegate to lower boost, then you install a boost controller to start all over again.
Do some reading and you can make up your own mind.
