Fuel pump activation ?

I'm installing an SDS EM-2 into my car. It's a fuel only computer and does not have the fuel pump relay option. I'm keeping the factory computer in place to run the ignition. None of the factory sensors(BAC, ACV, AFM, etc...) are plugged into the factory harness. The harness is still in the car.

Do I need to wire the fuel pump to the battery with an on/off switch(via a relay) or is the fuel pump still going to come on since the CAS is still working with the ignition?

Small correction. The CAS is still plugged into the harness as well as the coils and related items. Just the intake related items are unplugged.

You'll need to bypass the fuel pump circuit opening relay under the dash. This will make the fuel pump come on any time the ignition is on. Look at the fuel pump wiring diagram on page 50-36 of the FSM and you'll see how to do it.

Thanks NZ.

Small problem here NZ. I checked page 50-36 in my 987 FSM and it was for the Heater and Air Conditioner. Nothing present about the fuel pump relay. But, on page 50-20(EGI and Emissions Control System) there is a fuel pump circuit terminal(Bd-19) listed. Its located on the front part of the right front strut tower. Could this be what your refering to even though its not under the dash?

Wait, I'm not thru. I also found on page 50-16(EGI and Emisions Control System - Ignition System - Fuel Pump - Sub Zero Crap) another relay that might be the one. Ba-01 shows to be a Circuit Opening Relay for the front harness. Could this be the one?

Damn I seem to be making this difficult.

There is a yellow and black relay under the dash. It attached to the steering column. Look under there, its easy to see. Its the only relay in that area.

The page numbers I quote are all from the 1988 FSM, which is the online one. I didn't think about other FSM's, sorry about that. ;)

Project84's right, it's pretty hard to miss. From memory it's a black relay with a yellow base and a white plug.

Thanks NZ and Project. I got it going now.
