fuel problems (over fueling)
 

first off let me explain. i bought my car a couple weeks ago. it did not run. i replaced the fuel pump and made it run but the other day i pulled the car into the garage to do some brake work. i left the car running and walked to the bottem of the drive way. On my way back the car stalled. i tried to restart it but no luck. i have been working with it the last couple days and cant get it to run. i think that i might have a stuck injector because it is getting way too much fuel. i pull the spark plugs out and they are dripping with fuel. i clean them and blow the fuel out of the motor and put them back in. hit the key and cranck it over about three times and then pull the plugs back out and they are soaked again. Is there any way to check and see if there is a stuck injector, or is there something else that could be causing that? i mean this isnt "just a little rich" problem i mean after i cranked it for a while i noticed a puddle of something under the car so i jasked it up. and there was fuel dripping from the accuator valve under the turbo.

this is very common, you wont get it to start unless you pinch off the feul line, start it and have some one unpinch it when it starts to run on the feul that is in the combustion chamber. Was the car cold when it stalled? My best guess is that it was, if you start the car cold, do not turn it off for at least 3-5 min, or you will have this problem, i havent heard of a fix for this, nor has any one I know, but all early 2nd gens have this problem.

or you could just pull the egi fuse and crank to unflood the car. After you have done that a couple of times put the egi fuse back in and fire it up.

Temporary fix would be a fuel cut switch. Real solution would be to take out your injectors and send them to get cleaned. They are probably due for a cleaning anyways.

i have tried to unflood the car but it just keeps flooding again. i have a cut off switch for the fuel pump and have tried the ATF "trick" but nothing seems to work. its not just a normal rx-7 flood i think it is something more. as soon as i crank the car over for like maybe 3-4 seconds when i pull the plugs out they are hard-core dripping with fuel. you know that the car has to be seriously flooded to leak fuel out of the turbo is such a large amount.

also the car was cold when it stalled i just started it up and pulled it up into the garage and while i was letting it warm up it sounded like it sputtered a couple times and cought its self then died.

If it's really that bad you should just pull your injectors and get them cleaned or buy used known good ones.

i havent pulled it apart yet but i was thinking... how could it be an injector if both cylinders are flooding?... i dont know, but now i'm thinking more like a pressure regulator or something. what do you all think about that?
