Fuel pressure question

The Mikuni 44 sidedraft manual says to run 2.5psi which has been fine for me for around 2 years. I was reading some where that it should be at 4psi so I dont lean out at high RPMs Should I increase it to around 3.5 or 4 to be safe or is it fine the way it is.
