fuel managment advise

Hey, i read everything i found for this subject when i searched and this is what im left with. I have a newly rebuilt 13bt with a mild streetport, ported wastegate, Intake, exhuast, 2mm apex seals, I have yet to get injectors and fpr and stuff like that. But right now I am trying to decide what to use for fuel management. My goal is no more than 300whp and no more than 15lbs of boost, im not getting management and goin for that right now- with my stock turbo and intercooler i would like to hit 10-12lbs of boost with bigger injectors. But 300 and 15 are numbers i wont be going over. So heres my deal, I am looking at emanage ultimate or apexi power fc. I would rather have standalone but I live in a small town in southdakota and getting it tuned would be an issue, I dont know that I will be comfortable tuning it even if i do understand it. but it comes pre mapped- so how safe would it be to run it as is plug and play style- making sure it has the right a/f and everything of course. Can you plug a laptop into a power fc? It has target a/f and boost so is that safe enough to tune with, with out designing a whole map? Ok now for the emanage, would it be sufficient enough for 300WHP and 15lbs of boost and a port, and if it is- is it ultimately more retard proof because you are essentially using the stock map and just adding to it. If none of this makes sense then just tell me to go buy a honda . so any thought on the situation would be helpful, my major overall concern is that either one i go with that I will be the one tuning it, I trust myself to learn i just need to know which one i will be more successful with? thanks

as far as the 300 hp mark and 15 psi, a BNR hybrid is probably your best choice. Run a set of 720CC injectors all the way around and you should be able to hit 300 hp no problem.
If I remember correctly, you can run the Rtek 1.7 ECU and that should be able to handle your fuel map no problem as long as you are running 4 720's. You may also be able to run just an SAFC and a boost controller.....

I myself am still learning about the different standalone options so I can't offer too much advice.

I've never even heard of anyone running a Power FC on a second gen. It might be possible though.

an s-afc with a boost controller i think would be best for what you're looking for. Super easy to use, works well, pretty inexpensive.

I'd say just go full stand alone so you can tune fuel and ignition. I'm ussing a haltech e6k, and it was very easy to set up and get running. I would also recommend a wold 3D V4.. My friend has one, and it is a great unit. Also comes with a life time warrenty.

Here are some base maps for the haltech.

If you use a base map, I would retard the igniton and richen the map accross toe board by 10% just to be one the safe side.

If your plaining on going 300+.. I think that would be to much for the stock ecu, as it can't retard igniton after 8psi... unless the retek can retard boost up to 15psi.

I'd just play it safe and buy a stand alone. You can even find used haltechs for around 800ish.

Pretty sure the Rtec cant "retard boost" but it will retard your timing 1 degree for every PSI of boost over stock... Not perfect but good enough for the power level wanted here
