Fuel leaking from exhaust?????

Out of no where my car stalled on me and when I tried to start it the son of a bitch smoked like a freight train. It started once again went 50ft. then shut down.Know it wont start again. It is flooding so bad that there is fuel leaking from my exhaust can anyone tell me why that is happening?

try pulling the egi fuse starting the car the putting it back in

ouch!! one of your Injectors is probably stock open.

Sir.William 09-01-08 08:19 PM

The injector stuck open is what people keep telling me, is there any thing else anyone might think it could be?Also if that is my problem how can I test that?

polito Racing 09-01-08 08:34 PM

when my car started doing it you could here the injector firing but the engine wasnt even running. however it could be a different case. mine happened with a haltech. Im assuming you are running a RTEk 7 from your signature. dont know if that helps.

The only time I've ever seen fuel drip from the exhaust manifold was on a car with a secondary injector stuck wide open. You'd turn the key and the intake manifold would fill with fuel...

^^Tony's???

Did you end up just replacing the injector or was the ecu keeping it stuck open because that could also happen?

polito Racing 09-02-08 10:51 PM

in my case it appears to be the ECU i just havent had a chance to take it to get looked at before i ship it to australia I just want to make sure Its the ECU and not some wiring somewhere or something. you could hear the injector operating with the car It apears a driver for Inj 1 took a dump but like I told you Im really sure it has to be something different but I know exactly how you feel.

I believe in the case Aaron was citing the injector was the problem.

Still does any one know a method to find out which one it is.Can you look at the injector or something and see if it is stuck open.Would the ECU through a code or something. Can some one tell me something I can do to find out which one it is?:wallbash:

Simple. Pull the fuel rail with the injector still stuck inside. Hold it in place with a ziptie or the like then turn on the fuel pump.

If gas sprays out (keep a cup under it just in case, and use your head! Common sense!) injector is fubar.

Thank you I will try that out.
