Fuel Injector Replacement for Turbo 2

I'm having trouble getting to the fuel injector and can't seem to find any instructions on how to do it for a t2.
Do I just remove the 4 nuts here and pull out the intake manifold as one piece?
Do someone have a link for instructions?

There are four nuts and one bolt that need to be removed to separate the UIM from the LIM.
The other three nuts not circled in the picture are on the same level as the lower nut that I circled.

You will also need to undo the bolts securing the fuel rails as well, obviously.

Best of luck.

Do I have to separate this or can I tilt it enough to get to the fuel rail?

Leave the throttle body attached to the uim when removing it. There is a hose that runs from the rear iron to the thermowax on the throttle body. This one can be tough to disconnect so take care not to tear it. Be sure to get a new gasket that seals upper and lower intake manifolds as well.

Don't forget to loosen or remove the nut that fastens the throttle body elbow to the inter cooler bracket. It's not obvious in the diagram (post #1), but if you forget that one, the UIM won't budge.

no need to separate it, itll come off with UIM, just remove the UIM and you'll have access to your fuel rails. Also when you put the fuel rails and UIM nuts and bolts back on, torque them to 15ftlbs.

bc there was no nut on it.

i took out the 3 nuts, 1 short bolt and 1 long one from the upper manifold. It's not moving at all.

My memory is hazy on S4 T2, but I think theres a second nut/stud holding the elbow to the bracket. You also may or may not have the OMP rod holding the throttle body to the engine. In total, you should have 5 fasteners holding the UIM to the LIM flange - normally its 4 nuts and one long bolt, but I think you have a bolt replacing one of the nuts. That's about all I can think of that causes the UIM to not budge. You may also have a bent intercooler bracket that's pressing against the throttle body. Mine did, so I had to push the lift hook over to take the pressure off the throttle body.

Yup, that's the one I was referring to.
