Fuel filter relocation, see any issues with this?
1 Attachment(s)
Hey everybody, the rubber on my factory mounting bracket for the fuel filter broke so I took this as a chance to relocate my fuel filter. And the best place I could see is where you see it in the picture. Do any of you see an issue with this location? There are no moving parts close to it that can cause issue. The only issue I can see is it's to close to the engine and heat can be a factor. What do you all think? This an ok location for the fuel filter? (I'm not going for looks, just function.)

That location looks OK, but you've added at more than a foot of fuel hose hanging in the breeze (without support). Why not just replace the rubber fuel filter bracket mount?

Thanks for the reply. |
Also, I don't see an edit button... But if you're referring to the fuel line going to the fuel rail from the filter. It is the factory length I've not actually added any there, and I can see where you'd have concern for it not being supported... I'm sure I can figure out a way to support it better.

I'd just make sure that the Inlet hose is not hitting or bounces on the subframe or that bolt close to the hose(in pic.)

I'll see if I can find some loom and cover the hoses as well for extra protection.

N326-13-363B <-- This is the part you want, but they're kind of pricey for a stupid rubber mount.
86-92 Rx7 Fuel Filter Mount (N236-13-363) Mine have the same problem, the old rubber just cracked and tore off when I unbolted the fuel filter. Probably just going to replace it with a bolt and some rubber washers. |
Maybe S5's are different because my fuel filter mount is steel. Maybe the PO replaced it?

Yeah I'm finding a lot of rubber mounts on my s4, I guess they wised up with the s5. Thanks for the part #
