fuel delivery problem??
well today i was on my way home. on the freeway just crusin along aroun 60 when i decide to speed it up i put into 4th gear and floor it a little to get my speed up when i notice that when i floored it, it seemed like it wanted to go but didnt at the same time it was kinda felt like i was out of gas. so i let off and do it again but it didint do it again?? this is the second time it has done it. i think it might be the fuel pump so if i replace should i just get and upgrade one??thanks

i was just reading about a F.C.D. would this be a good investment. because i just read this off of fc3spro.com
F.C.D.: The fuel-cut defenser prevents overboost fuel-cut when running higher boost levels. The stock ECU is programmed to trigger fuel-cut when running approximately 1psi over the stock boost levels so maybe i was running a little over stock boost?? |
so maybe i was running a little over stock boost?? From what you described and your mods, the first thing I thought of was fuel-cut. Maybe you were/are right on the edge. Fuel-cut is a pretty violent phenomenon from my experience. I've only run into it twice while calibrating my fcd. As you might infer from my sig, I'm no exhaust expert so maybe someone else will chime in with an opinion on your boost level with that exhaust. If it is fuel-cut & you want to run more boost, then YES you need a fcd. Unless you're planning on going to a standalone ECU in the near future. |
Have you ever cleaned the in-tank fuel pump pickup strainer?
