Front Underpanel

One of the bolts on my front underpanel broke, so it was hanging, and it hit a rock today while I was on the highway and it ripped all the way back so I need to probably cut it and get a new one. As long as I am replacing it I wanted to try and find a better aftermarket one, an aluminum one if possible because I used to have one on my Celica and I liked it for the extra protection and everything. Is there anything like this for an 88 RX7 because I did some searching and I couldn't seem to find one. It was just a quick search but I figured someone would probably know on here.

Ive never seen one but know there have been request for it.

I have not seen any sold, but have seen aluminum sheeting under cars.

so they are really only custom made... that sucks I figured there would be a few out since beatrush made one for my old Celica and FCs seem to have quite a bit more of an aftermarket than that did.

If memory serves me correctly, the odd aluminum undertray did come stock in later years of production. They occasionally pop up on the forum for sale for around $100.

The front tray (forward of the crossmember) is only made in plastic, this piece is essential for proper flow through the radiator. There is an aluminum tray that mounts rear of the cross member that doesn't do anything for cooling but it does lower the cd of the car. attached is a picture of the aluminum one (but it is not for sale cause the owner kind of bent it up)

Thanks for the information... I was hoping it would be easier to find but I guess I'll probably just have to buy stock ones

You'd have to be pretty savage on your car to beat up the plastic one, mines decent shape and ive gone off road often

Just judge the ground ahead of your car good :P and make sure your suspension is in good shape and the only thing that should touch the ground is the cat

nah it came unbolted somehow, I think the shop that inspected it and replaced my wheel bearings and brakes might have left it unbolted, and when it was hanging it hit a rock and ripped all the way back. I'll probably just get another plastic one.
