I was wondering what front diff mounts are available? n I remember someone mentioning a cone or something. Links, pics? Thanks

You're probably thinking of a pinion snubber, which is universal.

As far as I know there's just stock and the stiffer Mazda Comp version as far as mounts go.

I saw a few online, but none installed on a car. I just saw one sided adj snubbers. Anyone have a pic so I can get a better idea?

Ok, so I took a look at my diff mount. Im guess that snupper pushes agains the extra piece of metal that comes out with chunk or rubber on it?

I know it seems like a big hassle and tons of time and some money, but I'm thinking about fabricating a front diff mount using delrin.

The driveshaft gets more up and down shaking , right?

From the one I've seen pics of I think it was just bolted through the floor, making contact with the front of the diff itself. Might as well make it touch where it's strongest, right?

Are you talking about a snubber or a mount? Not the same thing. The mount mounts the diff to the subframe. A snubber goes between the diff and the floor of the car. If your broke mazdatrix has OEM and "competition" mounts. Or get some plate steel and weld the 2 halves together.

You should try one of these. They are called Nev'r break diff mounts and a guy here was fabricating them for about the same price as the stock unit. I have had absolutely no trouble with mine and I seriously beat pretty hard on mine. With sticky drag tires and very hard launches I broke a few stock units plus the stiffer Mazda Comp part. I have had zero problems with this mount. I have a new spare that I would be willing to sell if you are interested.

Either a stiffer front diff mount or a snubber. Anyhting to get the front diff a little stiffer. I cant think of anyway to get the delrin to work without major fabrication, so solid is starting to look a little better

No it is not a solid mount. It is a polyurethane molded mount with internal plates that will not allow for breakage from deflection. It uses the stock outer steel parts and molds a much stiffer compound around them than the original rubber parts. It is significantly stiffer than either the stock mount or the Mazdacomp mount. I paid $110 shipped for the ones I have. Considering the performance I have seen they are worth at least that. I have a brand new one that I would sell for exactly what I paid if anybody wants it speak up fast because there are several people looking for these.

I will try to find the guy who made these. The last I heard he had no more in stock and was looking for cores to make another run. If I come across him I will let you all know. In the meantime - you can get mine - at least one of you can.

Most people just drill a hole in the floor, making sure to clear the Y in the e-brake cable. As the name states, it just "snubbs" the pinion end of the dif from bouncing up and down. When I changed my broken diff mount, there was actually a dimple in the floorboard with paint missing where the diff would smack, hence the clunking noise.

Pinion snubbers are the way to go if you're short on money.
