front cover: where does this go?
 

i pulled my brothers 1988 GTU engine and started tearing it down to be sent for a rebuild.. i got to the front cover and this fell out i could not see where it came from or where it goes..

it goes in the OMP drive gear, by looking at it you will easily understand which side goes into the cover and which goes into the OMP.

Hehe...That's the bushing that supports the metering oil pump drive gear. You can push it back onto the shaft of the pump o-ring side first.

Shame on me. I shoulda known that. It's in the second and third jpg in this thread.
