Nobody has anything on this? wow. Im gonna be doing it sometime next week, I will probably do the write up as I go along, this is pretty simple and self explanatory after looking at the FSM diagram.

pretty much remove everything, Radiator, water pump housing, i also removed turbo and intake manifolds etc so i had a bare block sitting in the engine mounts.

^I bumped this, just incase someone now knows of some tips on the subject. This is at the top of my list right now too, so unless someone already has some tips or, omg, a write up on it, I guess I'll just have to document everything, and post my procedure.

What i did on my rebuild was used a 84-85 GSL-SE frontcover gasket as mazdatrix reccomends and use the stock o ring this was on an s4 block s5 may be differe,t still running today with good oild pressure so I mustve done something right!

an excellent write-up is also in the FSM. THat's what I used. It guides you step by step in great detail.

I dont see what the problem is. If your front plate has the big hole use a 89+ o ring with the white plastic piece, if it doesnt have the bigger space, just use the rubber o ring, use some hylomar to hold it in there while assembling.

I talked to Mazdatrix today and on the S5 they only use the teflon (no o-ring) and silicone on the front cover..
