Front Bumper Options

Sup Guys,

I need some advice on what to do with my front bumper. I have an 88 GXL and am getting close to paint but want to do something with the front bumper. The problem is my body work skills are very limited (so is my wallet). I've got a bumper budget of $250. I want to open up the front for more air flow and improve the look.

Are their after market bumpers that are in my price range and are simple to install (no fitting, custom brakets ect... a simple bolt up design).

Option 2 would be to modify the skock bumper but not looking ghetto. I think if I can find a good write up on how to do it I would be able to pull it off.

Thanks
-Aaron

This appears to be a modified stock bumper with a front lip. I like the way it looks, anyone know of a "how to do" write up on a project like this.

Thanks

i think that lip alone is out of your budget, and the bumper looks like vomit. No write up is necessary, take a little electric saw (not a sawzaw, the smaller one, i forget what its called, like a handheld jigsaw i think?) and cut a big fucking hole. map it out or something first to make it even. But in my opinion, when you cut higher than the point where the bumper starts to curve back, it looks like ass.

what year is your car and is it turbo or na? s4 bumpers can almost never be cut to look good.. if you cut a big hole for something like a FMIC, I can't remember who it was, but someone said it looked like a shark with an overbite. It looks gay.
As for s5, you got a little more room to work with.. but barely!

My rx7 is a 1988 GXL (N/A).

I think that bumper was cut to high as well, but cut lower and I think it will look sharp.

Any aftermarket bumpers that you could recomend that are easy to install and in my price range?

If i do cut, I will want to fill in the side with fiber glass, anyone know of a good "how to" on working with fiberglass.
