Front brakes... But no rear brakes???
Almost a month ago i rebuilt my passenger side rear caliper.
Everything went smoothly and my shop teacher helped me and made sure i did everything correct. Yesterday i took a peak to look at the discs which i had also machined and installed new HPS pads on all 4 corners. I noticed that the fronts looked like new, where the pads bite on the disc. I then went and looked at the rears and they had rust on them (both rears). As if the rear brakes were not even working?? I don't know if this makes sense or not. Braking feels fine. Although the other day when i was comming to a red light i applied the brakes and immediately felt the car pull a hard right. I let off the brakes and pressed them and everything was fine again. Anyone have a clue whats going on? The E-brake works fine. This is on a 1990 GXL BTW... 4 piston calipers upfront, and vented discs in the rear. Thanks |
First: re-bleed the brakes & look for good fluid color & flow on all corners.
Could be: Damaged or pinched brake lines. Bad proportioning valve. Bad master cylinder. Drive extra carefully until you get it fixed. Those brakes are dangerous like they are. |
