fog lights
my fog lights havent worked since i bought my car and they've finally come up my list of things to fix them and was wondering where i should start? what goes bad most of the time? the switch or is it wiring somewere...also is there a way i might be able to wire them to be able to turn them on with having the headlights on?
|
I would start with the bulbs
|
where can i pickup some replacements? advanced auto or some such store?
|
when i was looking for them i think i found them referred to as H3C bulbs. well those are hard to find, but plain H3 bulbs work fine. they are built a little different, you have to seat them in there and then screw down the little wire on the back of the new bulb to the housing to ground it out. when you are looking at the bulbs in your hand you'll figure it out. at least that's how it was for me.

alright i geuss ill just pull one of the bulbs and take it with me and see if i cant find something

or you can go to auto zone and say " i need lights for my foglights on my XX Mazda RX-7".
Check the switch Check bulbs check wirings. If youc an floow wiring rewire them to the stock switch check ground |
i fixed my brother's foglights and yea, the old way you can get the *correct* bulbs are to order from mazda. or do what was said above, which was what i did, and mod the connections of a regular H3 bulb. forgot where i got the info from but its pretty easy. do what bingoboy said.

you may not find stock replacements or the same ones that you took out..instead you may need to go and buy the ones from an auto stores.(h3's). heres the write up on how to convert the plugs.. works great. as i did to mine..

Check the 15A FOG fuse in the cabin fuse box.
