fmic, n streetport with stock exhaust? well kinda

I am considering getting a exhaust cut out http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerc...62&prmenbr=361

my question is could i run 3 inch exhaust till about mid way to the tranny then install this and have 3 inch on one side and stock system on the other? I know the concept will work, but how is it on the engine?

The fact that i am running close to stock exhaust with a streetported turbo car and with mods. is that bad?

will the change in back pressure have a negative affect on the engine?

anything else i should be aware of?

You would need to oversize the stock side, as only one half of the stock exhaust would not be of sufficent diameter to provide decent flow.

If you want this approach, you would probably be better off using 3 inch exhaust all the way, and just have one side with a oversized muffer.

problem with that idea though is finding a good diverter that can withstand the heat that rotaries make, the idea of a diverter to a larger more free flowing exhaust has been thrown around but i don't know of anyone that has found a setup that works well for a decent amount of time.
