Flywheel???

ok i need some definite clarification on this:

I'm do the auto to manual swap, I have all the items I need except for a S4 clutch and flywheel... but i do have a S5 clutch and flywheel

Now the ? ...I know there is something to do with the balancing of the flywheel...but what i don't get is why can't one just get it rebalanced... what happens when one gets an aftermarket lightend flywheel....

explain in full detail!! i 'm completely confused!!!

The flywheel has an internal counterweight. You'll notice one side has a ridge that sticks out and doesn't go all the way around. The S4 rotors are a different weight from the S5 rotors so the counterweight is different.

When one buys an aftermarket flywheel it is not balanced at all. A auto transmission external counterweight is used along with an aftermarket flywheel.

I imagine it would be difficult if not impossible to rebalance a S5 to S4 flywheel (or visa versa). If you do it successfully let me know. ;)

so I should just buy an aftermarket flywheel and use the auto external counterweight and this would work???

You sure can do that. But some aftermarket flywheels like the Racing Beat 17 lbs steel one will come with a counter wieght.
