fluid flushing.
 

i just found out that my clutch fuid wasnt suppose to be black... i also checked my brake and steering fluids and they are also black. i wanted to know if there was something i can buy to flush them out a little bit before adding new fluids. i recently flushed my coolant and it cleaned out alot of shit.

did you use any type of cleaner/ flush fluid for the coolant. I know they sell a flush kit that u put to clean out the areas where the fluid runs. Then u flush taht out and then you put in your fluid. Is that what you did.

Also for rx7, is it a 50/50 mix or a 60/40 mix (water/antifreeze)

Also what steps did you do to flush ure coolant, did u listen to FSM and haynes and take out the engine block plug?. I did it once by removing the Upper radiator house and the lower hose and pushing water thru the block (Gently) till it came out the top of the cap on the thermostat housing..

Just remove the plug at the bottom of the block (14mm if i'm not mistaken) and then drain everything and replace with fresh fluid, most of the time you dont need all this flush kit (some contain harsh acids that eat your seals!) Only thing i do reccomend is Redline watter wetter! lowerd my temps by 5deg C

The brake system is some what hard to flush clean since the hose are pretty small and the black stuff in the system is pretty heavy. Bleeding the system is pretty effiction most of the time. In fact when a dealer sells you a brake flush they are just bleeding the system nothing more. What ever you do please don't push your brake pedal to the floor. This is espeically true if you are pumping your brake pedal to push the old fluid out. Since the pedal only moves half way most of the time and if you push pass the normal operation range. The rust at the end of the master cylinder will tear up the seal. So please don't push the brake pedal more then half way even if you are just doing your brakes. Good luck!

Good looking out..Im going to be bleeding my brake lines pretty soon and was loooking at it in the FSM and Haynes book. I have a new Master /Slave Cylinder (auto to manual conversion).

yeah i flush from the radiator and engine drain plug. i also used a flush fluid that went in clear and came out straight black.

im thinking of rebuilding all three cylinder (brake, steering, and clutch). does anyone know where i can get the rebuild kits for all three (yeah i know i should search...)? thanks

I beleive mazdatrix sells rebuild kits for Master and Slave cylinder.

Well to be honest my coolant is GREEN, not black at all and is pretty good condition. Just i am going to Rotorfest and i dont want my car to have any problems. MY brakes are a lil soft and would like to make em stiffer so ima bleed those. Engine oil is new and clean w/ filter.
