Firewall holes
 

So I'm trying to plug all the holes in my firewall and ordered the Mazda OEM A/C hole plugs, but it doesn't look like there is a plug for the ABS wiring harness hole... what has everyone else done to plug this hole? (I'd rather not do any welding)

the non ABS cars actually are different so they don't have that hole at all, or the brackets to mount the abs pump. i think there is a plug that will fit, but since there is no hole, you have to find it. the simplest way would be to find another hole on the car that's the same size and order that plug.

its too bad the plugs aren't numbered like the nuts and bolts, those actually have the length in the part number, so you can change the part number and get a different size bolt.

I figured they had a different firewall... no fun. I'll have to measure it and go to the junk yard and start looking in cars trunks for rubber plugs :)

I got the AC plugs from mazdaspeed, it was about $5 for all 3.

I have some left over sticky-backed thermal heat wrap. Should block a hole off OK I think.

I just did this to one problematic hole near the downpipe where plastic plugs kept melting out- fiberglass/foil heat tape cut in a circle.

I had thought I had ordered all the A/C delete plugs, but apparently missed this one.

I literally just plugged mine up last night. Used a 1.25" electrical knock out plug. Snaps in a tidbit loose, but with some RTV, it looked almost stock. The hole itself is larger than 1.25, but in the electrical industry, we go by ID of the pipe. You could probably even use a 1.5" three piece knock out seal as well.

This is very good to know. Im also looking for rubber plugs to go were the OEM wiring harness went threw.

Any possible grommet you can imagine probably exists and can be found if you'll just look.

Yeeeaaaa...but i want nice clean new black ones. No heat fade ect. That involves going to the junk yard, finding ones that *might* work, see if they work, go to the dealer that the cars from i grabbed gromets from and see if i can get them. Its not as easy as going to the yard filling up a garbbage bag and wa-la.

The plugs I used were metal, fyi.
