Figured out my MPG, is this good?
Ok tonight I figured out my miles per gallon, and i got 15.5mpg. Thats some highway, city and messing around and getting on it every once in a while.

not too bad
better than what I get. 13ish
|
Oh and I forgot to mention this is for a 90 NA
|
Not too bad really. With my TII I know I get exactly 20MPG if I don't get on it.
|
Mmm.... Titties...
What was the question again? Oh, gas mileage, right. 15.5 is average. Replace your plugs and O2 sensor and watch it go up. Steve |

sounds about right
I've got an '87 NA, and I usually get about 16-18 MPG mixed. I can manage about 20 on the highway. I just got my engine rebuilt about 5K miles ago, so that might have something to do with it. At least its better than my '89 Mustang 5.0, I was lucky to see 12 or 13 MPG in it.

i get about 24 on the fwy, 18 on the street.

I told you, don't get on it at all. I shift before the secondaries kick in. And that is tuned by myself to be very rich for the most part. I hope to make it go up a little once I hit the dyno.

compression helps
My car had over 215,000 miles on the engine before I got it rebuilt. I was overjoyed to get 14 or 15 on the highway, and now I get at least 20 driving the same way. Compression, plugs, and injectors definately help your gas milage.

I've got a 90 GXL with 230k miles (19k miles on new engine)...I'm the original owner. The best gas mileage that I've ever got was 28 mpg highway. Typical highway mileage is about 20-24 mpg. In other words, I've driven about 400 miles or so on a tank of gas on the highway. In the city, a tankful will usually last me 200-250 miles. Not sure about city mpg, but think it's probably around 15 mpg. In general, gas mileage is better during the summer months and turns to $hit during the winter months.

Yep, sounds about right...I get 18ish mostly city driving and when I venture out of the city...23-24ish...75 MPH & up...
Of course always keep it in tune, tires with proper inflation pressure... and a fresh wax really helps too! ;) |

in my 88 GXL i get about 15 around town, and about 22 on the freeway. with my old 86 base i was getting 22 in town and 32 on highway. much better exhaust setup lol.
|
We'll see how my MPG changes in the future here. (I won't be driving my car until spring....unless it clears up bit around here)
I would get 20mpg, even it i did drive it hard every now and then.. |
lol I just think it is funny how 20mpg is the shining star for our cars. My escort can push 40mpg, It is just one of those things that I find interesting.
|
I see 12 in the city, and about 24 on the highway.
|
The worst I get with my 86GXL is 15-17 in town. I drive like a total freak. I haven't measured freeway mileage since I replaced my stock exhaust, but I got 24MPG at 80-90MPH on I5 on the way to Sevenstock.

My Tii gets about 15 city and 18 highway usually shift about 3500 in city and sit in 5th in the highway as well at 3k to 3500 about 80mph. but thats what you get with a turbo.
|
I drove approx 195 Miles, and my needle was right on the last mark before empty. I'm not liking that one bit.
|
i get 20mpg avg driving in my s4 TII
now that my flywheel is glazed and slipping i drive like a grandma. I prolly get about 24 with alot of highway driving. (it also has a streetport and idles way rich) |
I have a '90 NA that got 20.2 on the last tank. I drive nearly 50 miles to work and another near 50 home, with maybe 35 to 40 highway. I got on it, probably 4 times for the tank, and I drive 80-85 on the highway(unless someone causes me to get unhappy, in which case I go a little faster). This is with 50k plus on the rebuild. I would be checking anything that would relate if I were only getting 15's
|
eah, i get <10mpg, city or highway.... :(

Well for me I shift at like 5k rpm all the time, if I'm not getting on it or not, haha for somereason I don't like shifting below that. If I did shift around 3 or so maybe i could hit 20 mpg, but who knows. I also just put in brand new plugs and stuff, but havn't touched the o2 sensors yet.
