fighting an 87 t2

I have an 87 t2 that I baught for $1000 including an extra motor, turbo, fuel plenum, and a few other goodies, which will undoubtedly go into my 81 gsl anyways the t2 had an engine fire so the guy replaced it with one that came out of a wrecked car then I bought it after it sitting for three years so now I am going through every posswible problem it could be without spending a shitload of money, my only problem is I can get it to want to fire but nothing I seem to do will get it to fire off, but I do get a little better response if I put some oil in the sparkplug holes if you have any suggestions please help me I am starting to get pretty stumped

i would push start it if you think it is flooded. Check your compression also.

hmmm. no periods on your keyboard?

I've found that push-start has always cleared up the flooding problem. Also, just coasting downhill and dropping the clutch at around 10-15 mph. Does it every time for me.

Fire Fuel Compression

All you need is Fire, Fule and Compression. Just check these three elements and you'll start to eliminate the problems.

The fire triangle.. Fuel/air/spark.

Push start it, its probably flooded.

if you were running without the air pipe for too long, you may have f'd up the cats..

get the pipe back on and the air pump working and give it a few hundred miles before you take it back in
