A few questions regarding smog pump & ss omp lines & lower manifold for 6 port actuat
Ok, i'm almost done overhauling the motor and I was putting on my lower intake manifold and i broke it rethreading the oil feed nozzle the wrong angle, so i got my spare painted manifold, got a new gasket, new acv, etc gaskets. While i was putting them on the 6 port actuator turners (damned if i know the name) that are inthe manifold, do i have to align those with the ones that are in the engine?
And i installed ss omp lines and i was putting my smog pump back on and it seemed that the belt was going to be hitting it if i put it on, what did i do wrong, was i supposed to go from a different angle? And there's no bad way to install a oem thermostat right? its pretty straightforward, and man mine old one was crap and the gasket areas were junk. |
Oh yeah and my boss has a craftsman 4 hp 20 gallon compressor/tank he'll sell me for 50 bucks, should i get it? I think i can talk him down 40.

My oil lines (ss as well) where a really tight fit. Since they are not pre-bent like the OEM ones (plastic) it was really hard to squeeze them in. I did it though, and I still have clearence for the OMP control rod and the belts, nothing seems to be a problem. Although I still have not started my car yet since i"ve had them on, it looks ok.
The lines are a specific length for a reason, if your in the middle of this, and say put the long line on the closest oil injector to the pump, you could have rubbing of the belts. |
I think i went over instead of under on the lines, i'll check tommorow, thanks.
