a few problems I need help on

Hey guys, Ive got some issues here that I hope you guys can help me with. I recently bought a low milage rebuild and have pretty much everything ready to go now. First off there is this high pitch noise, not the low coolant buzzer, when I put the key to on. There is also like this low ticking noise coming from the center console and a low beep, beep noise which I know should be louder when the key is also turned to on. Hard to explain, sorry. My rewire fuel pump did not work, think it could be a bad relay I bought, but could someone please tell me exactly what color wires to connect? I got the info from 1300cc.com but it mentioned only for the s5 wire colors and I have an s4. And last Im not getting no oil pressure at all. The gauge isnt moving. Getting frustrated and exhausted...please help.

Um, pass...

Test the relay by putting 12C across pins 86 and 87. If it clicks, it's good. Here's my wiring diagram for the whole rewire. Double-check all your connections.

The wire has probably fallen off the sensor. Make sure the connector and sensor are both clean, and clip it securely back on.

The key on beep - maybe the seat belt nag.
Do all the warning lights test OK at key on?
Do any warning lights stay on?

BTW - NZ: that's a great FP rewire diagram. (I copied it to my FTP host.)

nope, no warning lights stay on and they do test ok with key on.

Thanks NZ for clearing that up, the rewire is working fine now. I got a chance today to try and start the motor and its reading high oil pressure, even with key to on. Searched and it could be the condenser that mounts close to slave cylinder or possibly a short somewhere or bad sender or etc. Found out what the beeps were in the FAQ but still have the non stop high pitch beeeeeeeeeeeeeee. Hopefully tomorrow if the weathers good, I can sort things out but in the mean time any second opinions would be helpful. Thanks.

And also I left the oil cap off while starting, just forgot but lucky I did, and there was a lot of smoke coming out of there, more than my exhaust???? It did clear up a little but still smoking.

If the wire falls off the sensor and shorts onto the engine or body the gauge will go straight up to full scale. It'll probably burn out if you leave it like that...

I remember not hooking it up during the first few startups so possibly it could be burnt out. How would I go about fixing this? Ill be getting a mechanical oil pressure gauge soon so do I need to worry about fixing it at all?

Connect it up and see if it works.
