FCD question
 

Well heres the deal. The person I bought the car off of insists he didnt install an FCD, however the boost is set to 10, which I run all day long. The previous owner used to boost 15, and I just dont understand how this would be possible. As fas as electronics there is the SAFC and AVC-R if that helps at all. Im just trying to understand why Im not hitting fuel cut without one. Of course maybe Im just not noticing it, but Ive always been told its quite noticable. Any help would be great. its quite noticable because you would never get over 8-9 PSI without an FCD and the noticable lack of power with one dead rotor would be a good giveaway. i'd say it has one but he just didnt know it did. if it has an Rtek upgraded ECU then it has one built into the ECU now otherwise it is patched in at the pressure sensor at the RF strut tower or near the ECU at the harness.

Does the stock boost gauge read anything when in boost? It should.

At the ECU's input wire from the boost sensor, what do you read at the pin 2H when the engine is idling?

A total lack of the boost GAUGE needle moving indicates that the ECU isn't getting a signal from the boost sensor. As in something is busted.

FWIW Before I installed an FCD my S5 would hold 11PSI for almost 3 seconds before fuel cut.

I suspect there may be a time delay built into the ECU program, besides the slight delay from the restrictor pill in the boost hose.

Mine would fuel cut immediately.

You can add that to the list of S4/S5 differences.

"rhscare" has an S5.
