you'll have to search more but i believe the wires mean it's s5 because they have speed sensitive power steering,

wires go to sensor/PS computer

If you P/S pump has 2 hoses, its vehicle speed sensitive.
If it has 3 hoses, its engine speed sensitive.

The S5 steering system is awful. Mine beeps at me all the time and will turn off sometimes when I push the car really hard. I can not figure out how to stop the beeping. I have taken apart the angle sensor several times and messed with it but no luck though it does not beep constantly like it use to. There is a bunch of info in the FSM but some information missing about the convertible.

Hawl that $hit out, it's useless. Manual converted racks are the way to go. Have a look in the archives at my thread.
