Fc3s.org engines

Hello people, i am just wondering if anyone has had any expeirence with fc3s.org and the engines they sell. I will be getting one within a week and would like some input on good bad situations anyone has had with them thanx

look back through a few pages in this forum. i know someone else was asking about j-spec engines from places like fc3s.org and corksport a few weeks ago.

fc3s.org is great, but its gettin in touch with them that is the hard part...im waiting to hear back from them since 3 weeks ago. i know that dave and co. do have more important things to do (they dont live off jspec engines) and i understand that they have lives, but its frustrating when yer engine is blown and u need something soon

I just got 3 engines in today from fc3s.org - they are SUPER clean and arrived in great shape. They shipped super quick too - shipped out of California on Thursday, got to Florida today on Tuesday! Dang!

He really does get the pick of the litter engines, but there's not enough supply to meet demand.

Best way to get up with him is admin@fc3s.org. Remember too he gets a LOT of "dreamers" asking about engines, and not many serious guys with the money ready to go.

Right now he is *the* place to get a J-spec engine from, hands down.

I met Dave at one of our Club events (SoCal7s) and he is a very nice guy. He loves rotaries just like everybody else. If a friend of mine ask for a J-spec there is no doubt, Dave is the man!..

Yeah I got my Cosmo engine from him and its got almost 120 on all 3 sides :) Very clean and got it very fast :)

Highly recommend him to anyone, also you get a 30 day warranty!! Try that anywhere else on a rotary :D

120 on both my rotors here too.

Yup Daves a good guy and runs a good honest buisness. I ordered a 13B-RE from him that turned out that had bad compression on the rear rotor, told him, sent it back, and got another in two weeks time. Good service. My compression is 120psi also front and rear (this time).

They have great engines. I just got one and am in the installation process currently. When I recieved it I thought I was going to have to do a whole bunch of cleaning, but no, it was already very good looking.

the place over here in NJ gives 30 day warranty ;)

sold me mine with a 90 day warranty, thank god they did because it had 15psi compression on the rear rotor, their service was good but I still got burned with the labor costs (sucks not being mechanically inclined). JSPECS are a try at your own risk investment.

If I can do a turbo engine swap for about $2000, it may become a reality for my convertible.

Question to those who've bought an engine from Dave, what other little things did you have to scrounge for for an n/a swap, or what did you have to reuse on your current car?

His site says that ECU's aren't available, how difficult are those to track down for a S5 engine?

I'd be reusing my stock rear end, grab a turbo transmission from him, and find a shop to make a custom driveshaft. I don't see the point in going through the effort of swapping the rear end if I've already got one that's limited slip, and my power goals are quite modest.

Check the for sale forum for drivetrains, you could probly get one for about $400+shipping, and I'm sure you could find an ECU for cheap cheap cheap.

I have $2000 just chillin' in my checking account right now. I want a project to keep my money away from the WRX for a while.

I was going to sell the FC and get a 240SX and do an SR20DET swap, then I realized that I already had a beautiful car sitting outside just begging for a turbo engine.

I've ran a few searches tonight because I forgot what little odds and ends are required to complete the swap, still haven't come up with much. I'll do some more searching, perhaps create a post, or take it to the FC eMail list.

If I start this project, in the end the car will be perfect, like new (+13BT).
