FC3S Front Suspension Top Mounts

New top mount in UK does not have the white dot on it.
It has a similar sized circular marking in the rubber and a raised rubber square lug.

I have installed them assuming the circular moulding was equivalent to the white mark, following advice in the forum archives for max caster and negative camber.

Its all very wrong!!!

Anyone know what the correct standard install should be, then we might be able to work out what I want.

are you talking about camber plates?

Effectively yes but these are the standard top mounts for the front suspension.
They're assymetric so when you turn them retaltive to the mounting points, you get 4 different combinations of Camber/Castor

well if you want to set them up for max caster max camber its not that hard...

rotate them until their position is as back and in as possible....

maximum caster (I am assuming you want negative caster) would require the top of the strut to be BEHIND the wheel center line...

maximum camber would require the top of the strut to be more towards the vehicles center than the center line between the front and rear tires....

if they are just the rotatable type, you've only got three other options anyways, it shouldn't take that long to determine which is the one you're after.......

Thanks!

I race and repair cars as a hobby, I even have camber and castor gauges.

The difference on the standard mounts is relatively small so I wanted to start from facts before messing around in the street...I'm away from the racecar garage and tools.

I'm led to believe the projecting piece is forward and engine side as standard.

Found a car with new top mounts installed
The lugs point forward and inwards, so 180 deg from the white dot

I've set mine up for min caster/camber...........great!
