FC wheel fit question...is this right?
 

found some wheels,
17x8 +35mm front
17x9 +35mm rear

stock wheels are 16x7 +40...
7" X 25.4 = 177.8mm /2 = 88.9mm + 40 = 128.9mm of backspacing

wheels I'm looking at:

8" X 25.4 = 203.2mm /2 = 101.6mm + 35 = 136.6mm or 7.7mm more than stock backspacing. WILL THESE FIT WITHOUT A SPACER?

rears I know I'll need a spacer but am afraid they'll hit the fender
9" X 25.4 = 228.6mm /2 = 114.3mm + 35 = 149.3mm or 20.4mm more than stock.
WITH A SPACER WILL THESE HIT MY REAR FENDER?

It's going to come down to the size tires you use. The fronts will be very close to the springs, so you might want to throw a 5mm spacer on there. You should be safe with 235's up front.

The rears will clear the suspension no problem. You may be able to fit 265's, but 255's are a little safer.

Fender clearance will depend on how much the car is lowered.

your saying the rears will clear no prob with or without the spacer?

The rears won't need a spacer.

you can do 265's in the back, i have a 17x9 +35 with a 265 on it in the rear. you'll probably be pushing it up front though.

so if I throw a 5mm spacer on the front with an eibach pro kit you guys think I'll have issues with the fender so long as I go 235 or less?

I have 10" rear tires and 8" fronts...they all needed spacer, and longer studs up front too.

255/40r17 rear and 235/40r17 fronts, with + 35offset all around, and you should be ok. Front will be VERY tight, but should be ok with the right tire brand. If you want to play it safe, go 225/45r17 in the front, and youll have no problems. No spacers needed.

This is the same set-up I am running on my car...as Rxmfn7 states above 235/40r17's in the front could work but it depends on the tire manufacturer,I couldn't get a 235/45r17 kumo 712 to fit without a spacer so I settled on 225/45r17's.Lost interest in trying a 235/40r17 after the tire installer fuck decided to customize one of my nice new rims by adding a couple of nice scratches taking off the 235/45's :bash: I wasn't super interested in running a spacer,but a 5mm spacer that is hubcentric would be acceptable, H&R are the only ones I've come across that produces one,and they are not cheap expect to shell out $100 CAD for a pair...I have been told if you run coilovers,depending on the coilover brand the adjusting collar will only let you run a 225/45 with that offset or you will need to add the spacer.

yeah I'd like to avoid a spacer if I can, 225/45 is OK, it's only the rears I'd want to look beefy anyway. Cool, I figured I'd need spacers.

You guys think a 9" wide rim will fill those rear wheel wells?

I was running 17x9 +38 with 255/40-17s and they fit fine. They didn't even come close to the fenders dropped 1.5".

Now I'm dropped lower with the same tires on 17x10 +12 wheels and I had to do a good amount of fender work and add more negative camber.

Which 235's fit for you?

The kuhmo 712s fit, that was with a 17x8 with a 32mm offset. I could fit my thumb between the tire and the spring, so there was a good bit of room. My next wheels will be on soon ( Enkei RPM2s, 17x8 front with a +35) and I think my Yoko AVS's will fit (235/40 also), but Ill post back and confirm.
