FC Subframes any differences between years
I am currently dong some reserch on doing a kouki subframe and engine swap into a FB body, and while PMing back and forth with Doug Whalen he claimed that one of the other forum members had told him that different year FC had minor variations to the subframe, and that one model either the zenki or the Kouki would require that the back of it be shimmed prior to bolting it into the SA/FB frame has anybody out there had a zenki and kouki crossmember sitting side by side before?
are there any differences? I read Abe Omids Write up and it didn't mention anything about any spacers either? |
They lie.
The part numbers between series is identical for the front cross-member. There is, a difference between the convertible and the coupe, though.... same reason why some header's will not fit on convertibles when they will on coupes (and also is a more rigid piece). ALL second gen coupes, regardless of year, used the part: FB01-34-800G ALL second gen 'verts, regardless of year, used the part: FB67-34-800C As a sidenote, the 'vert subframe would offer higher chassis rigidity when swapped into a coupe model frame, though I have never tried it myself. |
true, it's because the vert needed to make up some ridgeality lost due to it's rag-top....

Got any ideas on what the specific differences are? maybe the mojnting locations on the frame are different? |
