FC running fine one min the next like {edited} WTF need help ASAP

So i was driving down the rd... and my car was running absolutely perfect i want beating ir or anything.. i went to turn into my neighrborhood as soon as i pushed in the clutch and put it in the right gear and let out of the clutch it started acting real bad. it was having trouble holding revs and it lost like all power it was going very slow with it floored and wouldnt go past 3k rpm. it isnt smoking or leaking anything and it backfires real bad it you touch the throttle at idle. i checked the maf and the coils and they seem to be fine.. though the oil pressure is a we bitch high sitting at idle maybe like 50pounds of pressure. i am soo lost right now. please help me!!!!!

Similar Problem

Hey, I've got a similar problem. Starts, runs for about 2 minutes then just dies. It acts like it's not getting fuel, but it will start right back up and do the same thing. If you try to give it gas, it almost kills it. Is the fuel pump going out or what????

DRFTMSTR 04-14-08 08:03 PM

i have no clue like it will rev out past 3k with it in neutral sounds like its not getting spark to me more than fuel but the coils wre arching and putting power to the plugs so i have no clue.. the vacum lines seem the be all in place. btw the car is a 1991 6port

Hmmm...is the engine bucking?

DRFTMSTR 04-14-08 08:33 PM

i wouldnt say bucking.. almost idles normal just sounds real bad while doing it.. the rpm's arent moving at all but if you give it gas and let off it shakes a lil and then almost dies

do you still have the catalytic converter on the car? It could have clogged on ya.

Do a compression check just to be sure...

also, check your injector/injector clips...an injector could have stuck open or one of the pins on the clip could have backed out...

DRFTMSTR 04-14-08 08:39 PM

i dont have the cats any more... its got i/e/h and a test pipe. and the ports wired open

lduley 04-14-08 10:14 PM

you were given a couple of other suggestions

compression
fuel injectors

DRFTMSTR 04-14-08 10:21 PM

if it is loss of compression does that mean apex seals?

shadoe 04-14-08 10:28 PM

It could be a lot of things use the faq's

DRFTMSTR 04-14-08 10:31 PM

thanks going to look now

shadoe 04-14-08 10:32 PM

Furthermore, you are bumping without even reading the answers. Why have you not done a compression check yet? Are you hoping for some lame simple answer that will fix your problem instead of actually checking the basics?

if the compression turns out to be good you may want to check your in-tank fuel pump filter
my 90 GTU would practically stall out on hard left turns for awhile
