FC radiators
 

Well finally found my problem with my 88 vert. The add coolant buzzer is driving me crazy, guess its time to fix it...It puddle up fluid on the top right of the radiator (if you were facing it that is).

Now first question is do you just fix a plastic radiator or throw it away and buy another one?

My vote is an aftermarket one. I beleive Fluidyne makes one that will fit...for like $450. The stock Calsonic one is ok, but I think it would be worth your time to get a upgraded one.

I f I had to buy a new one, you bet your ass it would be an aftermarket Hi performance one, but right now. I was wanting to keep the cost of this car down. Until the motor goes bad then I'll do something nasty to it :D like Im doing on my 85. I just bought a shitload of parts for the other car, so money is of the essence. Nothing can be done to the stock one? or when they leak there trash?

Mike, I can hook you up with a used replacement(stock) for around 40 bucks if you wanna go that route. But yes, generally when they leak there they are junk, unles you want to experiment with taking the endtank off and use some sort of sealer on there, but the plastic jut continues to crack with age. All the mazda ones do...Ive worked on mpv vans with the same problem.

Kevin Im afraid, that if I buy a used one, Ill have the same problem. Never thought Id have this problem with mine, this car is so clean and never wrecked... If you got one in GREAT looking condition, then we may have a deal. I will check with a buddy of mine first, he works on radiators and we'll see what he says. But id imagine its trash :(

I've got an all metal (brass?) rad on my 87.

I put it in about 8 months ago. It fit fine, and works great + no more plastic POS under my hood.

Another nice thing is a metal rad can be repaired and or rebuilt/rodded out when it gets old/damaged.

It was like 150 bucks. If you want, I'll run out in the parking lot and see what brand it is.

Gonna put it on tommorow, this thing is leaking BADLY now!

I called Griffin Radiator 2 weeks ago to get a quote. They had said that they don't have any in stock. In fact I would have to send In my core so they can size It up to my FC. Abit impractical don't you think?
