Fc Power Steering Problems

My Fc Is Leaking Fluid, Where Do You Start To Cure The Problem?

Visual Inspection. Find the leak, replace whatever was leaking, and also figure out why it started leaking.

are you sure its PS fluid?

to check the PS pressure lines, remove that black foamy covering on them cause they can hide a lot of bruises and breaks. and they can hold a good amount of fluid as well. if you're anal about removing "stock" equipment then just slide it down as best you can while moving your hand up and down the line and feel for any bumps or what feels like a "dip" (could be a split). it should feel smooth and firm all the way. and then check the fittings at the pump itself. seldom do the fittings at the rack leak.

also make sure the return hose is good which runs from the side of the pump, then forward a lil bit, then makes 2 bends that go down and to the front of the car inside the bumper.

also, theres the A/C line that runs to the condenser that likes to get bruises or "bumps" as well and when it splits it does leak oil as well. its kinda hard to spot cause you cant see it from the top of the engine bay. so you'll have to look under the car and find a hose that looks like a pressure hose, not to be confused with the braided nylon oil cooler lines.

but most important of all, clean the engine bay as much as possible and then run the car while looking for leaks, and if you really think its power steering fluid then have someone turn the wheels lock to lock and look for any squirts, as the pressure lines do carry a lot of pressure
