FC to FD upper Intake Manifold w/Throttle body RisingRPM

Here is a link to how you too can have an FD upper intake manifold with an 80mm one butterfly throttle body on an FC. I bought this and all the necessities will update with pics to show how it goes.

Rising RPM - Product - Adapter Plate 80mm to FD

I guess i should interject. I contacted Rising RPM on facebook after discovering that the guy had a FB and i literally told him to build this. No lie. The reason why i felt like i product like this should be built is this...

while the stock TB's are great, they tend to be old and not compatible with most aftermarket tps's. this is a great alternative and allows you to use one that is the standard GM for us aftermarket EMS guys. That was the main reason, however there was another thing kicking in the back of my mind. Rotorygod put a single TB onto an fc and he sparked an idea that high hp guys would love this, but up untill now, there wasnt a solution. sure, rotoryworks has one, but not very many people like it, and why spend 300+ bucks and still have to use a shitty cast piece for the intake. why not use what you want AND not have it leak like a civ??

so yeah. :)

I have that adapter 2!in fact i was the first 2 get it from him.......i had been sending him pm on facebook and ideas 2 get this done!A couple of people got together and requested the adapter and he did answer with a great designed piece!i have mine installed on a cosmo upper 2 s5 turbo lower with a custom made adapter piece. My plan is 2 install this next month(is cold here in pa)and do back 2 back dyno runs with the oem fd throttle body and then with the 80mm adapter and throttle body. The adapter plate 2 match the jc s5 manifolds wasnt finished on this pictures that is why it looks like a flat piece of aluminum.

I like the re intake adaptor

clokker 02-04-13 07:28 AM

It's amazing what cheap computer machining makes possible these days...that's a very complex part to sell for under a hundred bucks.
I have no idea if the part is actually worth it but from a consumer perspective it looks good and is well provisioned accessory-wise...with one glaring fault.

That stack of seven washers to accommodate the long stud is just pure bobo.
Toss in a shorter stud in the hardware bag and do it right, the washers look like an afterthought.

afpreppie04 02-04-13 09:39 PM

I agree with Clokker about the stud/washers. Even though it is on the bottom of the TB and not readily visible it would bug me knowing it was down there.

I have a couple parts from Rising RPM and they have all worked out great, not like my Rotary Works TB elbow. I suggested they make a Gilmer drive setup on their facebook page; we'll see what happens. I've e-mailed Eric there a couple times over the years and he is always friendly and gets back to you within a day or so.

I'd like to know how you guys like the single large TB when you put them on, I always hear about it affecting part-throttle response and want to know if it is as large an effect as people make it out to be.

The products all look nice and I've heard good things about their IAC adapter. What I really want to see someone make are some serpentine belt pulleys that are NOT underdrive. I've got the old "Mazda Racing" brand ones and the charging system blows unless at 2k RPM or higher.

thats sweet! u got pix of it on the vehicle?

the TII UIM isn't really that bad nor that difficult to adapt other TPS sensors to.

now if you're talking 500+ HP figures i might agree, but not too many people running early engines pushing that much through them.

BeachCat 02-13-15 11:04 AM

How can i contact this guy?

Molotovman 02-13-15 01:16 PM

You can't, he folded up.

barkz 02-13-15 05:49 PM

^ Yup, sucks. from what ive bought and seen of the other products they would have been a great company.
