FC = YES or NO ??
Ok I have a 2 things I wanted to ask, before I buy FC :
1. I wan to buy a FC, but I know nothing about rotary engines and I don’t make that much money so I was wondering if fixing at home is hard to learn. And I need a car for all year long so summer and winter to get my ass to school. So is it worth buying a FC ?? does anybody drive there FC during winter ? 2. I live in Ottawa anybody know go places to get part ? And I do websites (well anything that has to do with graphic design: logo’s, t-shirt design, etc.. so if anybody interested I can make a site or whatever for parts or hand work(fixing engine) and for money(I’m cheap). If you get an N/A, they are fairly reliable. Just be prepared for a lot of little problems. They're mostly electrical, but all of them are relatively easy to fix.

My NA has been wonderfull. No elec probs here. And to fix her up I jsut started replacing all the older parts. Hoses plugs wires pads water pump radiator etc etc. Make sure thwe tranny is good tho. I bought mine with an aged tranny. Blah... oh well.

Yeah, my tranny's not in too good a shape either. It whines all the time and it grinds into 5th, unless I double clutch it.

I haven't owned mine long enough to have driven in snow, but I absolutely fear driving in rain. It's probably because of the crappy tires that are on it, but I'm always losing the ass around tight corners. If you must drive it in the snow, get some good snow tires for the winter.

St. Louis. We get some pretty bad winters here from time to time. This last winter comes to mind, but I had a Cavalier then and it wasn't much of a problem driving.

I drove my turbo last winter here in Ohio, and we got our asses kicked by snow. I slid twice and fucked up my alignment both times. The first time, not so bad. Simple alignment. The second time, bent my fucking driver side strut! I actually lost the back end 3 times. The first time, no harm. The other 2, are above. I plan to never drive my T2 in the snow ever again. Will drive it in winter, just not in snow. Definently gonna get a beater for that. FWD beater.

FC's are good cars all around. They are fairly cheap to buy and not too expensive to repair. Keep coming back here and you will learn a lot about the FC. I have an N/a and she has not let me down more than a normal car.

im born and raised in st louis and the best cars i ever owned were 2 seperate 7s..an 82 and an old slow 86(fast at the time for me.....but a slow bastard) idrove those things in the snow all the time and had too much fun with it..only better ride in the snow and ice is a snowmobile!!

iv driven and been in a lot of sporty cars over the years since i do a lot of racing, and i have to say my S5 FC has got to be one of the finest, maybe its just because i love some of the older styling, or maybe because its a true rear drive, light weight sport car. Yea, there a few things here and there, but if you can find yourself a low km or mile S5, it will be pretty much trouble free.
Just today i took it with a friend to our local speeding/handeling area (a very unsafe one, but will still dirve it anyway) i can tell you right now, theres nothing quite like a rotary flying along at 80mph through a wavy road with little room for error, and then hitting and killing a rabbit that just happens to jump out at the last second when your still doing 55mph or so... vrroooooommmm!!!! thunk! 'boy, that one hit somthing really solid' |
try going to the other sections those canada fellas could tel ya how good theres run in the cold.

if you have some decent tires and are prepared for some old car problems, buy an FC!
