factory electric fan

Was looking through the s5 fsm and pages E2 and E13-14 reference an electric cooling fan. My non-running project s5 vert has no such fan. Do I need to start looking for one or is this an option for certain models? Thx, just trying to figure this all out.

Turbo models and Automatics had the fan.

cool thx Jack. What does a turbo and an automatic have in common that requires an additional electric fan? Any benefit to me rigging one up? Thx

The radiator has a transmission cooler on the Automatic. Fan helps shed heat in traffic.

Turbo, makes more heat, fan helps shed heat in traffic.

Not much benefit if your cooling system is working well.
