A/F Guage Problems...

Hey, i've had a coupple of posts in a few of the other threads and i was wondering why my Autometer Pro-Comp. A/F gauge going crazy sometimes... like:

1) It will never go to all the way Rich like 90% of other people's guages do...
2) I've got the 1 wire set-up and i'm not totally sure if it is completely compatible with my gauge...
3) It will work fine just as long as i'm driving but, it still wolnt go to full rich while it cycles...
4) At complete idle it reads nothing and sometimes very little... I've heard 7's are supposed to read "RICH" at idle or something... (not sure)
5) I know for a fact it's hooked up right b/c i've hooked up about 4 or 5 before and had no problems... It's confusing...

Well, I think that's about it for now... But, i would appreciate some help on this subject..!!!

When I'm in closed loop my autometer goes back and forth from the last yellow led to full lean. sometimes I'll get the first green thrown in there but for the most part its yellow- red. As for getting nothing at idle, maybe check the connection? Where did you hook up the signal wire to the ECU or O2 sensor?

Connection

Make sure the connection from the wire still has a good connection.

Today my friend and I hooked his A/F meter up and did'nt get a reading at all. We checked the connections and they were all good. We openend up the wire harness and found a bad connection. Fixed it and it works great now. Remember....there is a braid that sheilds the O2 sensor wire. Do not hook it up to the shield.....hook it directly to the wire under the shield.

At idle....my A/F meter reads back and forth between the last yellow and first green.

Is it hooked to the ecu or the o2 sensor? Mine is hooked to the O2 but, i'm not totally sure what it is supposed to be hooked to... i can hook it to the ecu.. but, i need to know the exact pin and what not...lol
does anyone know ?

Well, i hooked it up to the computer, and no change... so, it doesnt really matter weither you plug it into the o2 sensor or the ecu, they all read the same i also replaced the o2 sensor it's self... If you unplug the "BLUE" sensor in the drivers side of the engine, it will read correctly.. but, i'm not sure if it will mess up the 7 or not... (need help on that one) but, i got my 7 running great today after about 8 hours and $50... not bad for a overhaul that i baddly needed... like lighting and cd player and stuff.....
