extension housing compatibility - NA to T2, S5 to S4

I have a question about the transmission extension housings. When i say "extension housing," i mean what the FSM says, everything behind the bearing housing, i don't mean only the "change control case."

does anyone know if they are interchangeable? i am doing an NA to T2, S4 to S5, respectively, drivetrain swap, and i'd like to use my current NA extension housing.

also, i'm not sure but is there a speedo calibration difference between na and t2? if so, would this solve the issue? thanks

Why? I don't know if they would match up (doubt it), but why not just use the T2's extension housing. It seems to me that it would require a lot of work for little/no gain.

well, the reason is i just got a t2 tranny, and was looking at it, and its missing a few items, like the return spring for the shifter. also the surface where the shifter bushing/spring sits is damaged. in general i think my na stuff is in better shape.

because of the disassembly order in the fsm, it seems like its easiest/fastest to swap extension housings, rather than piece by piece. please correct me if i am wrong.
