exhaust resistor plate

Hey Guys,

I must admit, after reading various rx-7 webs and especialy this site, I made every mistake in the book when attempting to "upgrade" my TII.
Read a past post response by RETed stating that even when porting a series 4 turbo wastegate, may still boost up to 12psi. I have an RB turbo back exhaust. Anyway I can keep boost at 8psi or lower without porting the wastegate( ie. exhaust resistor plate)? Can I buy one, or do I have to make my own? If so, what diameter?

Thanx, Gregg

Thing is, when upgrade time comes, will prolly switch to series 5 turbo and manifold, time and money permitting. Need a way to keep from trashing my motor in the meantime. ( Other than keeping a glassy eye on the boost guage and a cramp in my right calf. This is going to be my sons car, you know how that goes!)

A smaller sized DP would work, 2.5 inches should keep it under 12. You could if you had time put a plate in between the DP and mid-to cat pipe, start with a 2" hole and drill it out till you get the flow that you want...just an idea.
