exhaust question

I was wondering if it is alright to not have any pipes or mufflers after the cat. I was thinking of a mindtrain header, adapter, and hi-flow cat and then just stopping after the cat. Will this be fine or will it burn out my cat?

It will be loud annd sound funny. I think it would look naked without some sort of pipe/pipes coming out of the back. It would be fine but why?

I'm just going to experiment. I don't have the exhaust yet and I want to test out the different sounds when I get it.

A friend of mine drove his RX-7 to the muffler shop with nothing but a header and cat. It was loud, but not nearly as bad as I thought. You definitely wouldn't want to drive on the street with this configuration. No, it will not hurt your cat, but you are going to get tickets for sound violations, and it would be very bad for your health to breathe those exhaust fumes that result from having th exhaust terminate below the car. I recommend taking the money that you will save in tickets and medical bills and buy yourself a decent exhaust system instead.
