exhaust going from 2.5" to 2.25" stock muffer
hi everyone,
im changing my exhaust and wanted to know if it will be okay to go from headers to a 2.5" Y-pipe a high flow to my stock mufflers (which i think are 2.25"). will i lost power or produce exhaust leak. thanks in advance |
The y-pipe will most likely reduce down to 2.25" where the mufflers bolt to the y-pipe. If not, you MAY be able to get away with it using the 2.25" gasket to the 2.5 outlet but don't count on it too much, just make sure the pipes are centered properly and test fit the gasket to make sure it won't leak right away.

my reason for the setup is that i like the stock muffler. i feel like they flow just fine and not looking for crazy power or noise. Yes, your right. i bought the 2.25" gasket and the paste gasket too just in case. so i think Y-pipe can reduce to a small muffler, because the oem y-pipe are a bit bigger than the stock muffler outlets. i notice. well thanks for the feedback |
you shouldnt have any problems with that. if there was a loss of power it wouldnt be noticeable
