Exhaust on a 87 Turbo II

I just bought an 87' TII and am about to put on a full exhaust with Fuel cut defenser. How much boost can the stock turbo hold and will I hurt it if I do put on the full exhaust. I'm expecting the boost to go up over 8 pounds, I already have an intake.

fuel, get a walbro to start, i wouldnt go over 10psi w/out either an SAFC or some 720cc injectors.

So start working on the fuel system after the exhaust? Or build it before I get exhaust. I don't really have big plans yet of going with an Aftermarket Turbo, lot's of money.

With just full exhaust it will creep to like 11 or 12psi in 3rd and 4th. The stock turbo can handle this, but the stock fuel pump cant. Injectors should be fine, but you never know what condition they are in.

Get a walbro. Its under 100$ and less than an hour of work. Then port your wastegate. Its really easy and allows you to control your boost. There are plenty of how to threads on this. Then either buy or make a mbc for like $10. This will allow you to run a full 10psi in all gears all the time instead of having your boost creep to that only in 3rd and 4th. There are how tos on manual boost controllers too.

If you spend the extra $120 to do the mods I just listed, your car will be a hell of a lot faster, safer and more responsive. And it wont take you more than a day. Good luck!
