everything need for a complete a/c recharge?
im putting a/c into my car .... what is all needed for the recharge?
just 1can of compressor lube 2 12oz cans of r12 1 recharge kit with gauge... is this correct? |
should take it to a pro shop to do it. The cans are for when the system is low on freon. Its not meant to charge the whole system.
yea i would but i dont got 400 to dump on it
Shoot, I charge them all the time with cans. Just be careful, dont overcharge it!

For proper cooling and longer compressor life the system should be professionally vacuumed, of any moisture and contaminates before any freon is installed.
This is true...But if your ghetto like me....:)
yep very ghetto.... and j-rat i will agree... boost creep blows....
oh yea btw jrat what did you use... is my list correct as it sits?? thanks !!!
your list sounds good. I charged my car once w/ r12. Eventually no cold air. This will happen to you too, since it does not blow cold air, you obviously have a leak, because freon should never get low. So the next thing I ended up doing was getting a retrofit kit for 134a for 30 bucks (came w/ three cans of 12oz r134a w/ sealant and oil), spent twenty bucks to get the old r12 vacuumed out, and bamn, cold air ever since.
Yeah, sounds about right. I just use the R12 with the oil already in it, so it makes charging it easier

If you ever have your AC on your house serviced those guys can do it. Hell, you can prolly go to a place that does residential AC/Heating and talk to one of the install crews...they'll vacume check your system for $20 then you can use the cans without fear.
