engine swap???????
 

I have never swaped a enginge before, but my engine is bad and i don't have any money to pay someone to do it. How hard will it be to swap the engine and do you need any special tools? If you have any suggestions please let me know Thanks

An Engine hoist and the normal hand tools. :)

As long as you follow the manuals and stick to it (and don't be a retard) you should be ok to install the engine yourself; just do everything to spec.

Im doing one right now and i've never done any major car work before. Get the manual at www.fc3s.org and if you want get the $25 engine R and R tape at www.rotaryaviation.com i did an it tells u all the stuff u'll need to complete the job by yourself.:D good luck!!!

As long as you don't have to swap the flywheels you should be ok. That does require special tools.

Just mark the bolts and hoses. Its not really hard removing it. I had a friend who did it. The only hard part, IMHO, is knowing where everything goes back. So take your time and you should be fine. And always use the right tool for the right job.

Asking "how hard" it would be to do such a swap, is a totally relative question. No one here knows you, your personal mechanical skills, your tool selection, work area, or work habits. The same job on the same car can be viewed by 2 people as 2 totally different things. For instance, to me this job is about a day or 2 at worst, and to you, it may be 2 months in the works. Who knows.

Here, are pictures and step by step removal instructions. This is the easiest way, *provided you have a proper engine hoist*. If you are using a tree branch or other such riggery (I have done it before too), you'll want to drop the trans first.
