Engine Question

Just so i know when i rebuild. The owner of my RX7 told me that he blew the coolant seals. Drove the car home and parked it. Still runs but runs like CRAP!!!!!!!! now i was told it may have bad apex seals??? how do i know if he did blow the apex seals. Will the car run at all with bad apex seals ?? He did a compression test and he had no compression in one side of the motor. Now i havent herd it run but he said he will start but runs very very rough! "almost unberable to here" Is there anything i can check to tell the difference. How would i know for sure wheather he broke the apex seals or just the coolant seals??? If he blew the apex seals, the car has been sitting for 2 years so the internals are probley rusted. I would go with a V8 conversion then !! any help on this topic would be great. If you can suggest anythign for me to ask him, go right ahead. I hope you can help me find an answer/ Thanx

I think my engine has been overheated. How can I check to see if the coolant seals are good?
Fill coolant system ALL THE WAY UP (engine cold). Make sure that the fluid level is as high as you can get it. Leave the filler cap off. Remove the EGI fuse. Crank the motor (it should not start). If you get a LARGE amount of coolant coming out of the coolant fill, its safe to assume your coolant seals are blown. Also, a good indication is a fuel/exhaust smell in the coolant.
