Engine Problems Help!!
 
ok, i have a 87 N/A and i has a rebuilt engine with 13,000. The car was running good, and then i just doesent idle. its runnig kinda rich and ti still has power but no idle. i put new plugs in and tried a new air flow sensor. anyone have some ides for me. Im hoping for the best. thanks

Try to pull your codes to see if a connector may have fallen off. YOur Water Thermo-sensor could cause this, as well as the BAC at times.

thanks im going to try this right after work i hope its just a sensor, how many of you think by this description that the engine is gone?

ok, so i checked the codes and nothing i also check everything possible and i didnt find anything, compresion check now?

Compression check is a good idea, it will keep you from wasting a lot of time. My car has been very cranky lately too, and I have not found the answer. I sleep well knowing my compression is good.........

Yeah, do a compression check. If that comes out good, something else, like a sensor, failed.

Given that the vehicle idled good one day, and not the next, thats where I would start after the compression check.
