BAC, try cleaning it. passenger side by the fuel rail if i remember correctly.

Neo FC Jan 9, 2008 11:19 PM

i ALREADY DID CLEAN THE BAC. ITS STILL THE SAME. IS THERE ANYTHING THERE ON THE BAC TO ADJUST?

blk91fc3s Jan 9, 2008 11:28 PM

actually yeah, the large hex screw on the back needs to be close to it's stock position. it is possible it could need to be cleaned again. I did mine twice. Maybe somebody else could chime in.

Neo FC Jan 10, 2008 08:49 PM

the BAC valve affect the speed and weakness too?? or just the idle? ohh yeah! about that hex screw. It freaken broke. now i cant turn it, damm. now i need to get a new one. tanks

Sounds a little like Limp mode because of a bad OMP. Maybe. Check the codes out. Download the Fuel section of the FSM and it'll show you how and what the codes represent.

That does not address the idle problem though, just the driving part of your question. BAC should only effect the idle speed and starting the engine.

sory man but I have no idea what you talking about. I'm a newbe. whats a OMP and FSM? And what code? I dont realy know RX-7's its my first. Thanks

Dude...don't tear into your car if you don't know much about it..at least read up on everything there is to read up on. It's probably in Limp Mode because of an OMP failure. OMP Is the Oil Metering Pump, It injects fuel into the housing to lubricate it during combustion. FSM is the Field Service Manual, you can download it off the internet here or you can buy one. Haynes manual is just as good.

Oh yeah and OMP code sometimes ends up to be an ECU gone as well.
A lot of S5 problems on here I've read are usually an OMP going, throwing a code, involving gone ECU etc etc. If you absolutely have to drive the car make sure you premix the fuel, which means add 2 stroke oil everytime you fill up....I'm braindead and can't remember the correct ratio right now...sorry. Download the FSM, do what it says for an OMP code, and you should be fine.

what websaite I can download that FSM

This forum's FAQ has a link to the FSM.

Key word in Oil Metering Pump......OIL. It injects oil from the crankcase. not fuel

And to answer the OP's question along with everyone else, i would agree about the limp mode due to OMP failure. check your codes. Check the FAQ too. There might be something in there. Wouldnt hurt to search either
