what are good compression numbers in psi? i think that is the right term.
congrats n4ji. let us know what she feels like. |
YEAH BABY!!!
|
A great rotary should have about 100psi on each rotor, anything less then 80 is in need of a rebuild.

nah still doesnt run.. its a mystery
took it to a mazda dealer because i was stumped.. theyve had it for 2 weeks and cant find anything wrong yet |
where can i get a compression tester? and how much do they run for?
|
Compression testers are relatively expensive I believe. Just take it to a car dealer (preferably Mazda) and they can run a test for around $70.
|
nah dude compression testers are like 20 bucks around hurr =/
|
Blasphemy! I was talking to a guy at Tom Wood Mazda (right down the street) and he said they cost $74! I hope you get your TII running again, it was a fun car to drive when I went and saw it over the summer.

Originally posted by n4ji When he gave me the compression results, he gave me numbers like 8.5 8.3 8.7 with a low of like 7.9. He said Mazda checked it all out and it said it was in perfect condition. Maybe he was telling me the boost being run? Any ideas there? Originally posted by hpram99 you must be thinking of standard pressure gauge testers. The mazda tester is a proprietary tester for rotary engines and definatly cost more than $20 |
yeah.. the mazda tester...
wow 1600 half the price of my car! |
