Engine Mounts

Doing an engine swap next month and getting parts all ready.

Should i put in new engine mounts as a good habit, or is this just overkill and should i just examine the old and make a judgement call?

I'll have 4 to pick from.

Also The stiffer mounts, are they a good thing? does it increase vibrations much?

thanks guys.

vibration is all personal prefrence and what the car is used for. ive ridden in a t2 with aluminum motor mounts and solid tranny mounts... my car has stock motor mounts but a solid tranny mount and it vibrated and was louds a shit. run stockers will they break :icon_tup:

If they were stock mounts, I would replace them. Each one will most likely come off in two pieces. I am running Mazda comp mounts and they feel fine.

New mounts are always a good idea.
Mazda "comp" mounts are always a good idea since they are *cheaper* than the stock, softer mounts.
Go figure.

Where do I purchase said comp mounts?

I am running solid aluminum ones and they are a little vibrationey(-2sp?) at take off til about 2500rpm then I can't tell they are there. no noise either. but def replace them. I would go with the mazdatrix/mazdaspeed ones. they are like 35% stiffer than stock. good choice overall.

Either that or Rotary Performance. They gotem for 40 a piece but there suppose to be twice as good as the originals and noise free. Just a suggestion.

Or Racing Beat. I got my Mazda comps there. Love 'em.

CORKSPORT, At that price I'll have a pair as long as postage to the UK comes in under $20.

Do you guys accept Paypal?

CorkSport 05-08-08 10:59 AM

We do accept paypal. I put them on the shipping scale and they weigh just under 4 lbs. They will ship first class post which is $29.60. It is the cheapest method available.
